Refresh (Ascending the Eucalyptus baby blue)

Standard

Baby%20Blue

by Dana Janine Diamond

If I work on

laconic poems

will my mind

get more clear?

I will climb the

Eucalyptus ladder,

resting a thought

gently

on each

silver-green,

delicate leaf

the shape of

a heart

healing

in the heat

of mid-summer

soothingly familiar.

I hear a hint

of winter spare

refreshing air

of whimsy

is necessary,

breathe in

the Essential oil

“Ah, there’s the rub,”

they say.

Perhaps I should

not

have

asked

for

a break.
